a great little moon tune session took place at jonestown studios in august (first one in a while… summer was quite busy, what with my wedding and all!). this latest jam included daryl simpson, rosco,
max, and chez in a spirited and varied experience. plenty of interesting forages into the bizarre, with guitars, bass, drum
machines, sunths, harmonicas, more synths, and vocals.

i’ve listened to the jams several times now on my own, and there are some really good musical moments. also on that night, we tried something new at the studio. we had a guest run the video camera during a jam (jam 9 to be specific). i’ve taken the video and synced it up with the audio from the jam, and posted the result below. the video quality has been reduced to a manageable size so that it is more easily downloadable here, but upon request, a high res version can be arranged quite easily.

here’s a few tracks from a great little session we had at jonestown studios with our friends max floatation and jason aka james aka jimmy cracker corn. some great little jams, so i decided to post them all here for your kind review. five full jam sessions for you to listen to below. pay special attention to jam # 5. it’s my fav. takes a minute or two to get going, but believe me, the wait is worth it.

i’m delighted to announce that max floatation once again broke free from the bonds of victoria for long enough to sit down for a truly epic moon tune session. in total, we recorded seven jams, and i’ve uploaded four of them for your listening pleasure. i’m sure you’ll agree that there is some worthy content here. once again, each of these tracks is un-rehearsed, improvised, and played in a single take. we were quite happy with what we were able to record in just a few hours. it is fair to say that we were both reminded of how much joy can be extracted from playing music. i can’t imagine a life without it. cheers everyone, and contact me if you want to put together a jam some time. jonestown studios was paid a special visit by johnny and andrew, who along with myself laid down a few nice moon tune jams. armed with some cool toys, we put together a few really enjoyable sounds. ambient fans, take a listen to one of the tracks we recorded (just click the button below). chez

long standing moon tunes recording artist max floatation is moving to victoria, bc for an undetermined period of time, which of course means that he will not be performing at jonestown studios nearly as often. as a result, we arranged a special final jam session. we got together and recorded three monster tracks, and i’ve posted them here for your review. remember: these tracks are experimental in nature, so be patient… give them time. each of them offers something interesting, and each of them builds into a memorable sonic experience. the rough spots are a necessary part of achieving those brief moments where true harmony is achieved… let me know what you think.
